About the challenge

Join us for a data-driven hackathon powered by MathWorks and MATLAB, where you'll work with real-world information to uncover hidden insights and apply machine learning techniques in a healthcare-inspired setting.
Whether you're just starting with MATLAB or you're an experienced user, this is your chance to test your skills, solve impactful problems, and compete for awesome prizes.

Get started

  • Register here on Devpost.

  • You'll receive access to a public dataset and starter code repository once the event begins.

  • Use MATLAB Online or request a free license to get started.

  • Work solo or in teams of up to 4 participants.

  • Use the pre-event resources (like MATLAB and Machine Learning Onramps) to prepare.

Requirements

What to Build:

  • Analyze the dataset provided.

  • Create a machine learning model using MATLAB to address the given problem.

  • Use thoughtful preprocessing, model selection, and result visualization techniques.

  • Your code should be clean, functional, and well-documented.

What to Submit:

  • A MATLAB project (scripts, functions, or live scripts).

  • A 5-minute presentation (video, slide deck, or written report) explaining:

    • What problem you solved

    • How you approached it

    • Key results and findings

  • A public link to your GitHub or MATLAB Drive repository
